Peter Annable
After leaving art college, Peter was offered an apprenticeship in a design studio and was employed as a commercial artist/designer. As a young artist working in this environment, he found it a stimulating and instructive experience. Peter learned a great deal from the late Robert Forrester, an excellent watercolourist who stressed the importance of sketching and drawing every day, and working from life whenever possible. In 1987, Peter decided to venture out on his own, producing designs for the packaging industry, including decorated containers and tins, for which he received a number of awards. His clients included Boots, Argos, Debenhams, M&S, Bassetts, Cadburys, Euro-Disney, and Terrys. Peter also produced artwork for jigsaw puzzles, book and brochure illustrations, and taught watercolour painting. As a full member of the Guild of Railway Artists, he has had a number of his paintings featured in their books. Peter enjoys painting a wide range of subjects, including landscapes and portraits, and sells his work throughout the UK and overseas.
