This rendition of a peony was created from an observational life study. It was rendered in soft pastel on coloured card. It was an intense experience requiring a lot of observational skills to render all the delicate nuances of the peony petals. It was the result of a few, very pleasurable, focused studies. The vibrant, shocking pink background added a lot of vibrancy which seems to compliment the delicate petals.
