I used to live in Norfolk and often visited Castle Acre, but I had never been to the more renowned Castle Rising. One summer morning, I finally decided to go. The grass was lush and vibrant, with cow parsley just starting to emerge. The ancient structure and impressive earthworks looked even more striking against the backdrop of the ever-changing seasons. It was truly stunning, and I wanted to capture that beauty in my artwork by using minimal but vibrant washes over the permanent structure of the Conte crayon drawing.
