This oil painting was inspired by a girl taking part in a protest march.

The Rastafarian colours of red, green, and yellow (or gold) are seen on the Rastafarian flag.
Red represents the bloodshed in African history, both through slavery and the fight for liberation. It also symbolizes the blood of martyrs who have died in the struggle for freedom.
Yellow is a representation of the wealth of the African homeland. It also symbolizes the sun, and the beauty and wealth of the continent.
Green symbolizes the lush vegetation of Africa and the hope for its future. It represents growth, both spiritual and agricultural, as well as the beauty of the Ethiopian landscape.
These colours are not just colours but are deeply symbolic within Rastafarian culture, representing the history, struggles, and hopes of the Rastafarian people.

Giclée Fine Art Print, printed on Hahnemühle Photo Rag Paper.

The super matt finish of Hahnemühle Photorag makes this paper one of our most popular papers amongst artists, illustrators & photographers alike. The paper gives muted blacks with even colour reproduction, and excellent detail. The surface has minimal texture with a chalky smooth cotton feel which creates smooth colour gradients.

The print has a 3mm printed white margin for ease of mounting.
